Ash Grove Branch Library Celebrates Reopening October 23
October 21, 2010 — After undergoing a major interior revitalization, the Ash Grove Branch Library will celebrate a grand reopening from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 23 at 101 E. Main St.
The public is invited to see the new look, with repainted walls, new flooring and furniture, an updated collection of books and other materials, and redesigned shelving to create a more open, spacious atmosphere. The branch had been operating with limited services since September 27 during the makeover.
The project was made possible through a gift earlier this year from the Friends of the Library.
The day’s events include:
- 12:30 p.m. music by The Old Wire Road
- 2 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks by Ash Grove Mayor Brenda Ellsworth, Library District Executive Director Regina Greer Cooper, Greene County Presiding Commissioner Dave Coonrod and Rep. Jim Viebrock, R-134.
- Children’s activities are planned through the day, and Leo the Library Lion mascot will drop by for a visit. Sign up that day for a drawing to win a gift basket from the library district’s Between Friends gift shop and other prizes.
Beginning Monday, October 25, the Ash Grove Branch will open with regular hours, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
