June 2, 2011 —
Rogersville, Mo., native Geri Olmstead has been named branch manger of the Republic Branch Library, one of 10 branches in the Springfield-Greene County Library District. She was hired to fill the position vacated by Kim Flores, who was appointed as branch manager at the Brentwood Branch Library.
Olmstead, who has worked in special, academic and public libraries since 2006, was previously branch manager of the Thornhill Branch of the St. Louis County Library. She completed a masters degree in library science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007.
“I’m excited to be working in my hometown system and anxious to get out in the Republic community to continue to build on the great reputation of the Springfield-Greene County Library system,” said Olmstead.
She will begin her duties at the Republic Branch Library on Friday, June 3.
