Spread Cheer for Young Readers with a Gift Book Tree Donation
November 23, 2011 — Everyone has a wish list during the holidays, and so does the Springfield-Greene County Library District.
If you’re in a giving mood, consider a donation to a library Gift Book Tree to purchase a children’s book that will be shared by thousands of children for years to come. The books purchased with Gift Book Tree donations will circulate through all 10 branches of the district and the Mobile Library bookmobile.
From Nov. 5 through Dec. 31, every library branch will display a Christmas tree or wreath laden with book cover ornaments that represent children’s storybooks that are always in demand at the library.
It’s easy: Select a book cover ornament at the donation level you prefer -- $5, $10, $15 or $20 – present it with your donation to the checkout desk. Cash or checks made out to the Library Foundation are accepted.
Your name will be added on the ornament and hung back on the tree to inspire others. Or you can make the donation in a loved one’s name.
