Adam K. Nelson “Learning to Live” Book Signing Aug. 24 at Library Center

August 14, 2013 — Missouri author Adam K. Nelson will sell and sign copies of his new book, “Learning to Live,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

Meant to be the first in a series of books, “Learning to Live” tells the story of a young man surviving in a devastated world and finding faith and hope in the midst of despair and loneliness. “The book takes a science fiction plot and uses it to tell a deeper story,” Nelson said, referring to the post-apocalyptic setting. “My writing tends to have a lot of allegory, and this particular book reflects some of my own struggles with depression and my victory over it.”

Nelson will also have copies available of his first book, “A Night with St. Nick,” a juvenile fiction Christmas book published in 2009.
