Brandy Pollack “D-Card” Book Signing Nov. 16 at Library Center

Cuba, Mo., author Brandy Pollack, who writes as Jean Gordon, will sell and sign copies of her first novel, “D-Card” from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.
In the year 2030, business is flourishing for Psych Science, which is able to answer the question of when a life will end. At an early age, individuals are given their D-Cards which have the exact date, time and cause of their death. The information found on their D-Card determines what job they can obtain, the education they can receive and lays down the foundation for their future.
On the day after Zooey Rivera's parents' funeral, she is visited by Ryder Wenthouse, a graduate student who helped Zooey's parents in their mysterious research. Following Ryder Wenthouse's lead, Zooey begins a journey that will open her eyes to who her parents really were and help determine if a person is more than the number of their D-Card.
