Batman 75th Anniversary Celebration July 26 at Library Center and Republic Branch Library

July 24, 2014 — Holy smokes—it’s Batman Day at the Library! Bat-fans of all ages are invited to attend the Library’s Batman 75th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 26, at the Library Center and Republic Branch Library.

The caped crusader is celebrating his 75th anniversary this year. Stop by for make-and-take crafts and catch episodes of “Batman: The Animated Series,” rated TV-Y7. We’ll also have Batman freebies including posters, masks, buttons and temporary tattoos, while supplies last.

  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell. Drop in anytime for Batman crafts and activities for all ages, including villain and Riddler scavenger hunts. Teens and adults can join Batman fan extraordinaire Andy Thompson from 10-11 a.m. in meeting room B for a discussion about all things Batman, from favorite Batman actors to the future of the comic hero.
  • 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Republic Branch Library, 921 N. Lindsey Ave. All ages can take part in make-and-take crafts and watch episodes of “Batman: The Animated Series.”
