Anti-bullying Activist Tina Meier Reschedules Visit Nov. 12
October 31, 2014 —
Tina Meier, whose daughter Megan committed suicide after being bullied online, will talk to parents and families at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.
Meier’s talk was rescheduled from Oct. 27 due to illness. The event caps the library’s series in observance of October’s National Bullying Prevention Month.
As she does in talks with students and parents across the country, Tina will share Megan’s story of being bullied online by a woman posing as a teenage boy, and provide an overview of the technology that students are using in today’s world.
Topics such as bullying, bystanders, cyberbullying and sexting will be discussed, and there will be a Q&A after her talk. Families are encouraged to attend; some material discussed may be inappropriate for young children.
