Library Holiday Stores for Kids Coming Dec. 6
October 31, 2014 — The annual Holiday Store at the Library is three times as nice this year. Three library branches will have a Holiday Open House and kids-only Holiday Store beginning Saturday, Dec. 6.
The season kicks off with a special preview sale from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in rooms A and B of the Library Center. The preview event coincides with a visit at 5 p.m. that night from author/illustrator Jan Brett. The beloved children’s author will talk from 5-5:20 p.m. in the middle of the library, and then sell and sign her new book, “The Animals’ Santa” in the auditorium.
Holiday shopping for families, friends and teachers is fun and affordable for kids at the Library’s annual Holiday Store this year at the Library Center, Library Station and Brentwood Branch Library.
Children through age 18 can shop inside the Library “store” for gifts priced from 25 cents to $5. Friends of the Library volunteers help children shop for everyone on their gift list, purchase and wrap their gifts.
Proceeds from the Holiday Store help support the children’s Summer Reading Program.
We’ll kick off opening day of the Holiday Store with the annual Holiday Open House. This year it’s inspired by author and illustrator Jan Brett’s beloved characters from her new book, “The Animals’ Santa.” Get in on games and holiday crafts, listen to the story of “The Animals’ Santa,” and get your picture taken with Santa Claus.
