December 4, 2014 — Two local authors, Bill Armstrong and Rick Mapson, will sell and sign copies of their books during book signing events on Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

Bill Armstrong’s book signing will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. He will have copies of four books available: “Survival on a Coral Planet,” “The First Voyage: The USS Chincoteague AVP-24,” “From the Kitchen…to the Bandstand” and “Born in California…Surf, Sun and Prune Picker!” Bill’s books reflect his years growing up in California, his World War II experiences and his career as a performer.

Rick Mapson’s book signing will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. He will have copies of two books available: “The Coffin Train” and “Seeing Clearly: A View from Heaven.” “Seeing Clearly” is a Christian novel that considers the question “What happens when you die?” as the protagonist dies and journeys to heaven. “The Coffin Train” is a young adult novel about Dede Ray’s experience viewing his first “coffin train,” an opportunity for residents of a South African village to show off their final resting place.
