STEAM Gets Real with Experiments at Library Center This Summer
May 14, 2015 — Children in grades 1-5 can learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math this summer through fun activities and experiments at the Library Center.
Programs are on Mondays and 2 and 3:30 p.m. in the Library Center Story Hour Room. Materials will be provided. Call 882-0714 to register.
• June 1: Super Strength: Design a "super cuff" strong enough to hold up five books. Registration starts May 24.
• June 8: Super Sound: Make a "sound sandwich," and learn about sound and music. Registration starts May 31.
• June 15: Super Vision: Test your eyes with optical illusions and make a thaumatrope toy. Registration starts June 7.
• June 22: Super Balance: Learn about balance and gravity, and make a balancing robot. Registration starts June 14.
• June 29: Super Flight: Blast off with rockets and see how high yours can fly! Registration starts June 21.
• July 6: Super Safety: Design and test a crash-safe car! Registration starts June 28.
• July 13: Super Symmetry: Learn about light and color, and make a kaleidoscope! Registration starts July 5.
• July 20: Super Survival Skills: Learn how animals survive in their habitats, and see if you have what it takes to be a super predator. Registration starts July 12.
• July 27: Super Speed: Design and build a thrilling roller coaster ride! Registration starts July 19.
