Music, Movies and Lectures Lead Library’s Magna Carta Series

September 28, 2015 — The Springfield-Greene County Libraries will join community partners in a series of programs to celebrate the 800th anniversary of “The Great Charter,” Magna Carta.

The programs set the stage for a rare, national traveling exhibit Oct. 12-23 at the Meyer Library of Missouri State University, “Magna Carta: Enduring legacy 1215-2015.” The exhibit will be free and open to the public during the MSU library’s hours. The exhibit is brought to Missouri by the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Foundation.

A complete list of Magna Carta programs related to the exhibit, including MSU lectures and films at Moxie Cinema, is at springfieldbar.com, and click Magna Carta: Enduring Legacy 1215-2015.

Here’s what’s planned at the library branches. All programs are free and open to the public.
