Join the Geocache Dash this Summer and Explore!
May 19, 2016 — Scavenger hunts aren't just for kids! Join the geocache hobby, a high-tech scavenger hunt using a GPS device and coordinates that can lead to urban exploration and outdoor adventures for families.
During the Summer Reading Program May 21-August 6, all ages and families are invited to join the Geocache Dash. Visit your nearest library branch to pick up a geocache card. It will guide you through a fun summer of traveling to local libraries and parks while deciphering clues and locating geocaches.
Each cache you find will count toward an entry in the Adult Summer Reading Program drawings for a gift basket or a Kindle Fire. Return your card to any library by August 6. Winners will be notified by August 15.
Learn more about geocaching or brush up on your skills at one of two free classes for all ages on Geocaching 101. Join library staff member Andrew Mann in this beginner's guide to geocaching. Bring a smartphone or GPS device if you have one.
