Come Out for Library Night at Hammons Field July 22

July 2, 2010 — The librarians are leaving the building -- but only for a little while. And you're invited to join us.

July 22 is Library Night at Hammons Field, and we’d love to have everyone who loves the library to join us.

All 10 library branches and the bookmobile are selling discount, $6 tickets for the Thursday, July 22, matchup between the Springfield Cardinals and the Tulsa Drillers. It will be the last game of that week’s home series.

The game begins at 7:10 p.m. We’ll be sitting together in the outfield boxes in Section C.

You can buy tickets with cash or check made to Springfield-Greene County Library District. Tickets are available through July 12.

Here’s some of what’s in store:

  • Kids can participate in the pre-game parade around the field. Children should meet on the stadium patio when gates open at 6:10 p.m. so they can join the parade.
  • Look for us on the stadium concourse. We’ll be the ones with the giant Library card. Get your picture taken the giant card, and then find yourself later on the library district’s Facebook album at www.facebook.com/thelibrary.org.
  • Eat cheap – it’s $1 "brats" night.
  • The stadium will give away a Sonic free cherry limeade voucher for the first 2,000 guests.

We hope to see lots of library fans among the Cardinals fans in Section C for this special Library Night.
