Dr. Brandan Gremminger, a licensed clinical psychologist at Midwest Assessment & Psychotherapy Solutions, will help you understand the warning signs, the impact of burnout on ourselves and others, and proven ways to prevent it.

    As part of Drury University’s Humanities Speaker Series, Dr. Katherine Gilbert, assistant professor of English and former director of Women and Gender Studies, will discuss the ways women in popular culture navigate the balance between their public and private lives. While women in the public spotlight, from Jane Austen to Beyoncé, may be centuries apart historically, Dr. Gilbert argues that they share a surprisingly similar set of questions and challenges in the public realm that repeat across centuries and genres.

    During the 24 years Abraham Lincoln lived in Springfield, Ill., he practiced law, served in the Illinois legislature, married, served one term in the U.S. Congress, helped to start the new Republican Party and was elected President of the United States. Hal Funk, Missouri State University professor emeritus, will discuss these important aspects of Lincoln’s life and show slides of historic Lincoln sites in Springfield.
