Several of our upcoming programs are listed below. View all programs by branch, audience, or subject by clicking the links at left.

The south entrance and community room of the old Brentwood branch will be accessible from April 18-28 for scheduled meetings and programs. After April 28, Brentwood storytimes and other programs will be held at nearby locations. Please note the location of Brentwood programs in the program description.

  • Walk with the Animals, Talk with the Animals
    Fair Grove Branch Library
    11 a.m. in the community room for preschool-grade 4.
    The way humans walk and talk is very different from any other animal species. Our friends from Dickerson Park Zoo will help us explore the world of animal languages as we compare animal noises, colors and body language. Grunt, squeak and squawk with the animals this summer at the Library! A Summer Reading Program event.

    10 a.m. in the Willard Recreation Center for grades K-5.
    Strategy, movement, a dab of science and engineering -- all of these come in handy when you create and play games. Test your muscles, exercise your brain cells and strut your gaming skills! A Summer Reading Program event.

    Temporary Brentwood Branch Library
    10:30 a.m. for infants-36 months.
    Our interactive storytimes introduce young children to books, reading and language with stories, songs and activities. Parents learn fun ways to build the early literacy skills their children need to learn to read. Due to library renovation, this event will take place in the Library Center Story Hour Room with your favorite Brentwood librarians.

Blackman Road with your favorite Brentwood librarians.
  • Spending Smart
    Library Station
    5:30 p.m. in the Santa Fe Room for adults.
    Learn to stretch your dollars and master your money. Landy Dixon with Consumer Credit Counseling will teach you how to create a solid plan to improve your financial situation. This session will include information about money management skills, credit reports and scores.
  • Yoga for Everyone
    Library Station
    6:30 p.m. in the Frisco Room for adults.
    Library staff member and certified yoga instructor Kim Duquette will guide you in seated and standing poses, breath work and meditation suitable for all levels. No need to bring a mat; street clothes welcome, but we will remove our shoes, ties and belts.

  • Edge Mobile Class: Learning Windows 10
    Republic Branch Library
    10 a.m.-noon in the community room for adults.
    Learn about the new Windows 10 operating system including features like Task View, Virtual Desktop, and Cortana. Explore the Start menu and Settings menu, and use File Explorer to manage, move, and rename files and folders. Use tiles to launch apps and to access other programs on the computer. Learn to use the Edge browser to surf the Internet. Prerequisite: Experience using the keyboard and mouse. Registration starts June 1; call 732-7284.
