  • "Hour of the Olympics." Explore ancient Greece and learn about the Olympics.
    Adventures in the Magic Tree House

    Midtown Carnegie Branch Library
    10 a.m. in the Children's Department for infants-age 6.
    Our interactive storytimes introduce young children to books, reading and language with stories, songs and activities. Parents learn fun ways to build the early literacy skills their children need to learn to read.
  • Racing to Read Tiny Tots Storytime

    10 a.m. in the Story Hour Room for infants-36 months.

  • Fabulous Friday
    Library Center
    4-6 p.m. in the Story Hour Room for grades 4-8.
    Join us for our special programs just for 'tweens! Indulge in one last hurrah of summer with fun Pokemon activities as we watch how it all began in "Pokemon: The First Movie," not rated.
  • Teen Friday Nights
    Library Station
    6-8 p.m. in the Frisco Room for grades 6-12.
    If it's Friday night, there's something going on at the Station just for teens. LEGO Brick Marble Mazes: Use our LEGO bricks and your imagination to create a LEGO brick marble maze. Work together or in groups, try out each other's mazes, and have fun.

  • Yoga Storytime on the Square
    Park Central Branch Library
    10 a.m. for ages 3-5.
    Kari Schlak, owner of Earth Child Yoga and certified children's yoga instructor, will lead children, parents and caregivers in a storytime designed to introduce yoga poses and techniques. Yoga-inspired stories, games and activities will also be provided. Join us on the Square and see how the art of yoga can exercise your child's mind, body and spirit!
  • Board Gaming @ the Library!
    Ash Grove Branch Library
    1 p.m. in the community room for adults.
    Play "Pandemic," "Sushi Go!" and other games.
  • Happy Birthday Harry Potter!
    Library Station
    1-5 p.m. in the Frisco Room for grades 4-8.
    Celebrate Harry Potter's birthday with wizarding crafts, snacks, trivia and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," rated PG. Drop in for crafts and activities from 1-3 p.m. and stay for the movie from 3-5 p.m.

    Join Rick and Karen Maxson, ukulele players and teachers, for an evening of complete beginner instruction as they lead you through chords, strumming and singing. No prior musical experience is necessary. Ukuleles and instruction booklets will be provided. Limited to 20 participants. Registration for this session is full.     9:30 a.m. in the Story Hour Room for infants-18 months.
    Our interactive storytimes introduce young children to books, reading and language with stories, songs and activities. Parents learn fun ways to build the early literacy skills their children need to learn to read.
  • Edge Mobile Class: Learn it! Self-Paced Tutorials
    Ash Grove Branch Library
    10 a.m.-noon in the community room for adults.
    You can choose what you want to learn and go at your own speed with our self-paced tutorials. We provide the computer and you select from a wide variety of lessons designed specifically for individual learning. Topics include basic skills, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Gmail, Photoshop and more. Both interactive and video tutorials are available to fit your learning style. We also offer computer-instructed keyboarding lessons to help you learn to type or improve your typing skills. Prerequisites: Some experience using a keyboard and mouse. Registration starts July 1; call 751-2933.
