Ozarks Genealogical Society member Doris Wilson will give you the scoop on these "techie" terms and talk about podcasts, webinars, YouTube videos and more that can aid your genealogical knowledge and research.
  • Edge Mobile Class: Learning Windows 10
    Library Center
    10 a.m.-noon in the Harrison Room for adults.
    Learn about the new Windows 10 operating system including features like Task View, Virtual Desktop, and Cortana. Explore the Start menu and Settings menu, and use File Explorer to manage, move, and rename files and folders. Use tiles to launch apps and to access other programs on the computer. Learn to use the Edge browser to surf the Internet. Prerequisites: Experience using keyboard and mouse. Registration starts December 1; call 882-0714.

  • Edge Mobile Class: Learn it! Self-Paced Tutorials
    Library Center
    1-3 p.m. in the Harrison Room for adults.
    You can choose what you want to learn and go at your own speed with our self-paced tutorials. We provide the computer and you select from a wide variety of lessons designed specifically for individual learning. Topics include basic skills, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Gmail, Photoshop and more. Both interactive and video tutorials are available to fit your learning style. We also offer computer-instructed keyboarding lessons to help you learn to type or improve your typing skills. Prerequisites: Some experience using keyboard and mouse. Registration starts December 1; call 882-0714.

    Combine STEAM and LEGO bricks to create a Rube Goldberg machine, make a LEGO brick coding game, design a LEGO brick catapult and more.

  • Meet the Photographer!

    Photographer James Wiebe, whose work is currently on display at the Library Center, will be in the concourse demonstrating how to mount photographs to foam core and answer your questions about photography.
  • Workshop Series: Design and Print in 3-D
    Midtown Carnegie Branch Library
    6 p.m. for adults.
    Excited about 3-D printing but unsure where to begin? In this four-part series, you’ll get a chance to design a 3-D model, convert it to a printable format and print it with the Library’s own Makerbot Replicator 2. The fee for using the 3-D printer is 15 cents per gram. Register once starting December 15 for the entire series. Prerequisites: An email address and experience using keyboard and mouse. Registration starts December 15; call 862-0135.
