    It's a big online world out there. Learn what to do to protect yourself and your computer when you are connected to the Internet. Learn about anti-virus programs, Internet privacy and how to keep your personal information safe. Prerequisites: Experience using keyboard and mouse. Registration starts August 1; call 883-1974.

  • Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library - Edge Mobile Class: Learn It! Self-Paced Tutorials
    Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library
    1-3 p.m. in the community room for adults.
    You can choose what you want to learn and go at your own speed with our self-paced tutorials. We provide the computer and you select from a wide variety of lessons designed specifically for individual learning. Topics include basic skills, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Gmail, Photoshop and more. Both interactive and video tutorials are available to fit your learning style. We also offer computer-instructed keyboarding lessons to help you learn to type or improve your typing skills. Registration starts August 1; call 883-1974.
  • Library Station - Teen Friday Nights
    Library Station
    6-8 p.m. in the Frisco Room for grades 6-12.
    If it's Friday night, there's something going on at the Station just for teens.

  • Republic Branch Library - Build-it Saturday

    11 a.m. in the community room for grades K-8.
    See what you can construct at the library using your imagination and LEGO bricks, blocks and other building materials.
  • Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library - Club Van Gogh
    Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library
    2 p.m. for grades K-5.
    Immerse yourself in art as we explore various artistic techniques. Each session will focus on a different medium, including watercolor, charcoal, paper-making, collage, sculpture and alternative painting methods. Then join us for a reception featuring participant's artwork from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.
  • Library Station - Demonstration Saturday
    Library Station
    2-4 p.m. for adults.
    Drop by the lobby to watch arts and crafts demonstrations, ask the artists questions and see their works in progress. Springfield Fiber Artists will demonstrate spinning and weaving.

  • Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library - Schweitzer Brentwood's Got Talent: A Neighborhood Talent Show for All Ages
    Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library
    2-4 p.m. for all ages.
    Celebrate the talent in our community as you watch your friends and neighbors perform in our neighborhood talent show! Do you or your group want the chance to perform in front of an audience and a panel of judges to see if your act has what it takes to win? There’s still time to enter Schweitzer Brentwood’s Got Talent! Children age 3 and older, teens and adults are encouraged to enter for a chance to perform. Pick up an entry form at any of the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch service desks and return it by Saturday, August 19. Entrants will be notified of their approval status by Saturday, August 26. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places for kids and adults.
