The south entrance and community room of the old Brentwood branch will be accessible from April 18-28 for scheduled meetings and programs. After April 28, Brentwood storytimes and other programs will be held at nearby locations. Please note the location of Brentwood programs in the program description.

  • Racing to Read Book Babies Storytime
    Library Center
    9:30 a.m. in the Story Hour Room for infants-18 months.
    Our interactive storytimes introduce young children to books, reading and language with stories, songs and activities. Parents learn fun ways to build the early literacy skills their children need to learn to read.
  • You Can Do it!
    Midtown Carnegie Branch Library
    10 a.m. in the upstairs meeting room for preschool-grade 4.
    What do you want to be when you grow up? Juggling Jeff wasn’t born with the ability to juggle, it began with a book. Then, with some effort, focus and the help of a good mentor, Jeff learned what he needed to know to make a living as an entertainer. Join Juggling Jeff (aka Jeff Koziatek) for a comedy show about following our dreams. With the help of a mentor, effort and focus, what will you do? Get ready, get set, read! A Summer Reading Program event.

    Our interactive storytimes introduce young children to books, reading and language with stories, songs and activities. Parents learn fun ways to build the early literacy skills their children need to learn to read. Due to library renovation, this event will take place in the Library Center Story Hour Room with your favorite Brentwood librarians.
  • Exercise Your Mind and Body!

    Self-published and low-cost, printed zines continue to grow in popularity as an intriguing form of self-expression. Find out more about the art form, zine collectives and how to create your own. Materials will be provided.
  • Not Just for Kids Picture Book Talk
    Willard Branch Library
    5:30 p.m. in the community room for adults.
    Drop by the community room for children's librarian Dawn McClain's monthly picks and tips on how you can enjoy picture books as much as the kids you are reading to. Children optional.
  • Teen Movie Monday
    Library Station
    6-8 p.m. in the Frisco Room for grades 6-12 unless specified.
    Join us for a movie and popcorn every fourth Monday of the month. For age 13-grade 12. "Jurassic World," rated PG-13
  • Board Game Night

    Love to play board games? Want to learn how to play strategy games, card games or Euro-games? Join us for a monthly board game night and learn how to play new games or play some old favorites. Games will be provided or you can bring your own.

  • Edge Mobile Class: Learn it! Self-Paced Tutorials
    Library Center
    10 a.m.-noon in the Harrison Room for adults.
    You can choose what you want to learn and go at your own speed with our self-paced tutorials. We provide the computer and you select from a wide variety of lessons designed specifically for individual learning. Topics include basic skills, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Gmail, Photoshop and more. Both interactive and video tutorials are available to fit your learning style. We also offer computer-instructed keyboarding lessons to help you learn to type or improve your typing skills. Prerequisites: Some experience using a keyboard and mouse. Registration starts May 1; call 882-0714.
