Name That Plant!

There are so many plants beginning to pop up in the spring and summer. But what are they called? Look around your neighborhood, yard or a park and try to learn the names of the plants. The Library has plenty of books that can help you. If you have a garden, let your child help you tend it or even grow some plants of his own. Talk about all the changes that you see during the growing season.

SING

The Garden Snail

Slowly, slowly, very slowly,

Goes the garden snail. [Create a snail with your thumb and fist and slowly walk it up your child's arm.]

Slowly, slowly, very slowly,

Up the garden rail. [Walk the snail up your child's other arm.]

Quickly, quickly, very quickly,

Goes the little mouse! [Run fingers quickly up your child's arm.]

Quickly, quickly, very quickly,

To his little house! [Run fingers quickly up your child's other arm and tickle under the chin.]
