Lost & Found, Mending the Hearts of Grieving Children and Families (aka Lost and Found)

Lost & Found provides free grief support services in a safe and supportive environment for children, young adults and their families grieving the death of a loved one. The name Lost & Found reflects the vision of a place where grieving people find hope to get them through the painful process of dealing with their loss.

The entire family is affected by the death of a family member. Each feels isolated in his or her own way and communicating sabout their loss is difficult. At Lost & Found, participants are placed in groups by age and participate in activities and discussions that assist them in identifying and sharing their feelings as they work through the healing process.

Lost & Found is the only provider of free grief support services for children and serves families throughout southwest Missouri. Each support group meets two times per month. Over 50 trained volunteer facilitators provide thousands of volunteer hours each year.

Lost & Found's annual family picnic will be held on August 10, 2010, and the organization will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in January 2011. Families that have been served by the organization are encouraged to contact Lost & Found to update their contact information.
