The Funding and Business Information Center serves local nonprofits and businesses. For nonprofits, assistance is provided for researching and accessing grant opportunities, helping them with grant writing skills and supporting them in achieving their missions and goals. Small business owners and entrepreneurs can gain assistance with researching their industry and market outlook, accessing sample business plans and learning about area organizations that provide business counseling and support. The center also contains resources to market a business or nonprofit, create materials, conduct meetings, research grants and find new markets for products.

The Springfield-Greene County Library is a Network Partner of the Foundation Center in New York. The Funding Information Network is a program of free funding information centers in libraries, community foundations and other nonprofit resource centers that provide a core collection of Foundation Center publications and a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grantseekers. Access to three grant research databases is available at the Library Center: Foundation Directory Online Professional, Foundation Grants to Individuals, and Foundation Philanthropy In/Sight. The center also offers a wide range of materials that can be checked out.

Business resources include a variety of print reference materials, including resources for small businesses and investors. Access to the following business databases is available in the Center or from any Internet computer, with a Springfield-Greene County Library Card: Business Decision, Business Insights, and ReferenceUSA.
