Looking for a unique gift with local origins? The Friends of the Library-sponsored Between Friends Gift Shop at the Library Center sells several items crafted by residents of the Ozarks. All purchases from the gift shop benefit the nine branches and bookmobile of the Springfield-Greene County Library District. Click each picture to see a larger version.
Springfield artist Bill Wright’s pen-and-ink prints focus on historical buildings and landmarks around Springfield. His latest piece, featuring the front gates of Hammons Field, includes splashes of color to accent particular aspects of the stadium. Unframed prints are $15; prices vary on framed prints.

 

Local photographer David Coleman brings nature, animals and landscapes alive through his color photography. A variety of subjects are available in 8" x 10" prints for $10 each.

 

“Lord of the Rings” lovers will delight in “Lembas for the Soul,” recently published anthology compiled by Librarian Catherine Kohman. The collected stories from LOTR devotees reveal how their lives have been impacted through the reading of J.R.R. Tolkien’s trilogy or watching Peter Jackson’s films. Price: $19.95.

Robot Book Light

There’s no need to read in the dark with this nifty Robot Book Light. With a touch of the button, the robotic arm extends to shine light right where you need it. Midtown VillageScape

Commemorating the century-old Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, these handcrafted resin miniatures measure approximately 5-1/2 inches at the base and 2-1/4 inches tall. Each VillageScape is packaged in a clear box. A parchment label on the back of the miniatures features information about the historic library branch. Price: $22
