Take a Turn in the Director's Chair

Put your videography skills to the test in the Library's 2008 TeenTakes Video Contest. Create an ad or mini-movie between 15 seconds and two minutes in length that promotes books, reading or the Springfield-Greene County Library District and you might win a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy or $10 gift certificate to Subway. Or, enter as a class for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Best Buy.

The TeenTakes Video contest is open to 13- to 18-year-olds with a valid Library card. All entries must be original videos created between March 1 and June 30, 2008. Entry forms will be accepted between May 1 and June 30, 2008.

Read all the official rules and guidelines and then get started!

You, your friends and family and the rest of the world will have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite video from July 9 - 31, 2008.

The winning video in each category, and up to five honorable mentions in the Individual/Group category, will be chosen using a combination of "People's Choice" and "Critic's Choice," a team of three independent judges.

Video entries will be judges on creativity, originality, technical quality and the inclusion of the words "Springfield-Greene County Library" in audio or video format.

Winners will be announced at Teen Night at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 1, at the Library Center.
