GET STARTED
1 Sign up for a YouTube account.
- Review YouTube’s Terms of Use especially item 6: Your User Submissions and item 12: Ability to Accept Terms of Service.
- All entries must adhere to the YouTube Community Guidelines.
2Create your video.
- Make sure you have read and understood all the Official Rules.
- Any teen, 13 to 18 years old, with a valid Springfield-Greene County Library card may enter in one of two categories:
- Individual/Group - Individuals or groups of no more than three teens may enter videos in the contest. At least one group member must have a valid Springfield-Greene County Library card.
- Class - Any Greene County middle or high school class may enter a single video. Class submissions will be judged separately from the Individual/Group entries.
- Video entries must incorporate, in audio or video, the words: Springfield-Greene County Library District.
- Video entries must be original works created between March 1 and June 30, 2008.
- Video entry forms will only be accepted between May 1 and June 30, 2008.
- Video length must be no less than 15 seconds and no more than two minutes.
- Music, images and video clips included in the video must be copyright-free, legally licensed by obtaining the copyright holder's permission, licensed through Creative Commons licensing or be entirely original content created by the teen(s) submitting the video.
- Video entries must be appropriate for viewing by all ages.
- Video entries are not limited to films that include individuals or groups of people. Clay animation, puppetry and other inventive forms of video presentation using inanimate objects are equally acceptable. However, if people are filmed, filmmakers are responsible for obtaining permission from anyone appearing in the film, even incidentally. Filmmakers are advised to avoid filming small children at the Library.
- If you don't have a video camera or video editing software, contact the Edge at the Midtown Carnegie Branch, to use the Library's resources.
3Upload your video to YouTube.
- Assign your video a title, description and tags.
- Make sure one of the tags you assign is "Springfield-Greene County Library District ".
4Complete the online entry form to submit your entry.
- Entries will be accepted May 1 - June 30.
