History Explorers: The Civil War on the Wire Road - Library Center

Used by both Union and Confederate soldiers, discover how the Wire Road, the I-44 of the 1860s, played a vital role in the Civil War. History Explorers will learn how inhabitants along the road dealt with opposing armies and the aftermath of battles, and learn about the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, Union Gen. Nathaniel Lyon and Civil War-era medicine. History Explorers encourages teens to discover American history and is presented in partnership with the Sons of the American Revolution. Call 882-0714
