The Japanese Earthquake Shakes Up Car Prices
The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has just issued an update to the April edition of its monthly Official Used Car Guide. 80 different models of Japanese, American, and European cars have had their market value increased. A spot check of the Library's copy of the guide shows increases of 2% to 7%.
The cars that increased the most are Japanese hybrids and fuel-efficient compacts and the American and European cars that compete with them. There are parts shortages and shipping difficulties causing these increases, but the recent rise in gas prices has added to the demand for these cars.
