"Girls softball, after about a six-year absence from the Springfield sports slate, returns tonight with a league game at Fassnight Park diamond between the Dairy Anns and O'Reilly's WAC contingent. One of the standout players for the Anns is Imogene Pollard, first line pitcher, who also excels at batting. Above [left] Miss Pollard tries a few practice swings preparatory to her debut."
