Death Over Dinner with Ann Neumann April 16; 5,000 More Audiobooks Available for Download
How about an engaging author and a free dinner to make it comfortable to talk about end-of-life issues? That’s the idea behind an April 16 event, Death Over Dinner featuring Ann Neumann, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Library Center auditorium. Registration begins today and seating is limited; call 417-616-0566.
We invite the public to join us for casual conversations on end-of-life topics as we share a complimentary dinner catered by Simply Delicious. After dinner, Neumann will provide context as she talks about the realities of dying in America, which she discusses in her book, “The Good Death: An Exploration of Dying in America.” A Q&A, book sales and book signing will follow the presentation.
You’ll also learn about Respecting Choices® of the Ozarks and how you can get help with advance care planning. The event is sponsored by the Library and Respecting Choices® of the Ozarks, with funding provided by the Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks' Doug and Rae Nickell Family Fund.

Like to listen to audiobooks on long walks, trips or at home? The Library just added over 5,000 more digital audiobooks that you can download onto your portable device with your library card. They’re provided through RBdigital, the service that also provides the Library’s digital magazines.
You may check out up to eight audiobooks per month, and most of them are available anytime – no waiting periods – and checkouts are for three weeks. (Renewals count toward your eight-book max.) Most of the additions are adult titles, with limited numbers of young adult titles and children’s classics.
This addition enriches your choice of digital audiobooks you already have through Hoopla and OverDrive, and the physical audiobooks at the library branches.
If you don’t already have an account and password with RBdigital, you can create one free at thelibrary.org/rbdigital. After that, you have the option of downloading the app on a mobile device, browsing and selecting titles. The mobile app is available for standard iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle Fire.
