The Library Temporarily Closed to the Public

All Springfield-Greene County Library branches and most services are temporarily closed. Library Executive Director Regina Greer Cooper directed the closure March 17 in accordance with Springfield Mayor Ken McClure's proclamation of civil emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon issued the same order.

Drive-up window service will reopen from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday beginning Thursday, May 7, at five branches: Library Center, Library Station, Schweitzer Brentwood Branch, Republic and Willard branches.

No date has been set for resuming other services or reopening library buildings.

All online services for e-books, audiobooks, movies, music, and electronic research sites through the Library’s website thelibrary.org will be available 24 hours a day, Cooper said.
