New! Renew Your Library Items by Phone, 24 Hours a Day

A new service just made it easier to renew your library materials by telephone, 24 hours a day. It’s especially convenient if you don’t have access to a computer.

The Springfield-Greene County Library’s telephone notification system number is 417-882-2087.

You’ll need to enter your valid library card number, and your account must be active (not expired.)

Just call the number and walk through the prompts to hear the status of your account and how to renew a single or multiple items. It will ask you to type in the library barcode number on the item before you can renew. If you don’t have the item with you, another prompt will recite the item titles, instead, and you can renew that way.

The same guidelines apply: Renewals aren’t available if someone else has a “hold” on the item or if you’ve met the maximum renewals. Some interlibrary loan items cannot be renewed.

You can always renew your items online, too, at thelibrary.org/catalog.

If you ever encounter problems or need to reactivate your card, you can always call your library branch for quick help.
