Holiday Shopping? Honor Someone with a Library Book or Gift
We’ve all weathered a rough year, and reading has sustained us through the difficult times. Here’s a way to thank a teacher, health care worker, neighbor or family member this holiday season for being there for you this year, while helping to grow the Library’s collection for others who turn to books.
It's a unique gift idea that keeps giving through the year.
A $25 gift to the Library will be used to purchase a new book for the shelves that others can enjoy. Staff will create and place a personalized bookplate in the new book to honor that person. As the donor, you will receive a card to give the honoree explaining your gift.
Pick up a donation form at the checkout desk of any Library branch, or call Melissa in the Library Foundation office at 417-616-0586. You can also purchase a bookplate online at https://foundation.thelibrary.org/ways-to-give/bookplates.cfm.
Shopping for gifts, instead? Here are two more ideas!
Make a difference this holiday. Shop for gifts at smile.amazon.com/ch/43-1655656 to generate donations for The Springfield Greene County Public Library Foundation.
Or shop at the Library's Between Friends Gift Shops at the Library Center, Library Station or Schweitzer Brentwood Branch libraries for seasonal decor, fashion, jewelry, cool socks, children's educational toys and games, purses, coffee mugs, cards and more! You'll find imaginitive stocking stuffers, too. All items are tax-free, and proceeds from the sales benefit the Library!
