First Air Express Plane Arrives

"Above is shown the first plane of the Southwest Air Fast Express line which inaugurated regular passenger service between St. Louis and Tulsa, Wednesday [April 3]. The plane was photographed here yesterday afternoon when Pilot Tom Parker stopped for fuel. The plane is a Ford tri-motor type, capable of carrying 14 passengers and two pilots. The planes operate on a regular schedule, stopping in Springfield about 10 a.m., en route to St. Louis and about 3 p.m. on the return trip to Tulsa. These planes have a wing spread of 76 feet and weigh 7,000 pounds."
