Springfield Symphony Plans Free Concert Nov. 21 at Library Center
All ages are invited to a free “symphony in the stacks” at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, when the Springfield Symphony performs at on the main floor of the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.
The symphony’s Chamber Orchestra and a narrator will present a free, 40-minute family concert featuring Camille Saint-Saens’ “The Carnival of the Animals.”
The instruments of the orchestra will represent various animals, and the narrator will be 12-year-old Grant Pickett, son of Kyle Wiley Pickett, the symphony’s music director and conductor.
Tickets are not needed; masks are required to attend the concert.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
