Seattle Roast Coffee is Coming to the Library Center

Library Center visitors will be able to enjoy specialty coffees, premium teas and lemonades, locally-made burritos, quiche, and baked goods when locally-owned Seattle Roast Coffee opens a south-side café inside the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

The Library Center, headquarters of the Springfield-Greene County Library District, has been without a café since March 2020.

Remodeling of the Library Center space is underway, and the café is expected to open in early spring with seating indoors and on the patio, said owner and developer Morris Dock. He also owns the Seattle Roast location at the corner of South Avenue & Walnut Street in downtown Springfield, at 401 S. Ave.

Library visitors can expect to see all of their favorite items from the downtown location including Nitro cold brew, lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew coffee, hot chocolate, specialty drinks and frappes (including Butterbeer, Oreo, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Caramel Apple Cider, Strawberry, and many more); premium lemonade and freshly brewed tea; locally made breakfast burritos and specialty quiche (including gluten-free and vegetarian options); locally made pastries, muffins, granola bars, and scones. “We’ll be adding more delicious menu items soon, so keep an eye on Facebook and Instagram,” Dock said.

According to the company Facebook page, “The Seattle Roast™ house coffee bean is the Blue Nile which features a sweet, subtle flavor full of aromatics without the bitter aftertaste common in some coffees.” Other fair-trade beans featured are the CostaMala and Dark Roast Blend.
