Japanese Garden Festival
Members of the Botanical Society of Southwest Missouri sponsored a Japanese Garden Festival at the Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathanael Greene Park. In addition to the plants and fixtures in the park there was a demonstration of tai chi, a tea ceremony, and a display of bonsai plants presented by the Bonsai Society of Southwest Missouri. The Botanical Society was organized in 1987, its main purpose was to develop and support the Japanese Stroll Garden. The tea ceremony was performed by Yuriko Mizumoto Scott of Elkland.
