Paul Mueller Convoy

Missouri agribusiness stretched another tentacle eastward as a caravan of [ten] trailers from the Paul Mueller Co., 1600 W. Phelps, carrying new milk coolers, departed from Springfield Saturday en route to Pennsylvania.

Although coolers from Mueller – one of the world’s largest manufacturers of milk coolers for farm use – are being used in many countries, today’s shipment represents the largest single shipment in the company’s history, Larry Dixon of Mueller said.

The coolers, to be used in Pennsylvania and New York dairy farms, represent a $700,000 investment by East Coast Distributors, Dixon said. Previously, the coolers were sold on an order-by-order basis.

Woods presented the caravan’s lead driver, Bill Johnson, with a letter from Missouri Secretary of Agriculture James Boillot and a "Missouri cured" ham, which will be presented to Pennsylvania's Secretary of Agriculture, Penrose Hallowell.
