Children build practical and emotional skills when they purchase gifts for others. The act of giving provides a sense of responsibility and underscores the value of generosity. If they are spending dollars they have earned, children gain a stronger sense of the value of money. And of course, making lists, thinking about what their relatives and friends will enjoy or appreciate, and determining how much they can spend per person are all actions that build strong money habits.
Kids have 3 ways to shop for holiday gifts for family and friends this year.
Stop by to see the Holiday Store items in displays at the Library Center, Library Station and online at thelibrary.org/holidaystore. Items for family and friends are priced at 25 cents to $10.
Enjoy 3 ways to shop!
Anytime December 1-20, shop the store online at thelibrary.org/holidaystore, pay for your items online, and items will be delivered to any library branch in 2-3 days.
At the Library Center, December 1-8, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m., shop from the concourse display case and pay for your order with cash or credit card there for same-day pick up. All sales afterward must be done online, or at the Library Station.
