Go beyond the book with the Library! Beyond the Book is a monthly video series that helps families dive deeper into a topic supported by books in our collection. This month, Ashley and Sarah talk about Reading for Empathy and share books like I Talk Like a River by Jordan Scott about the author's childhood growing up with a stutter. They don't stop at the book though, they go beyond to talk about activities and experiences that are relevant to kids and tools that can help them. The Reading for Empathy episode shares about the Sensory Safe Tools available to patrons and changes you can make to eBooks in the Libby app to make it easier for individuals with visual impairments or dyslexia to read. A new episode is posted on the first of every month at thelibrary.org/kids and all episodes can be found on the Kids Videos page. Check it out!
