Library Center visitors, please note! The regular book drop and drive-up window service will be closed Thursday, Sept. 20, for about one week while awnings are replaced. A temporary book drop will be available near the regular one. The Mudhouse south entrance and patio will also be unavailable. If you need to pick up items or conduct other business, please come inside the building. Thank you for your patience during construction.
The Springfield-Greene County Library District is committed to lifelong learning, and that includes supporting Greene County educators! We provide services to educators in our branches and at your schools.
Building principals can register for library cards for school use. Learn how to apply for a company card.
Bring your class for a tour of the library, including a visit to the "behind the scenes" departments. We will showcase pertinent resources and collections, and provide instructions for using them. And of course, we love presenting storytimes to classes, too!
Have you seen an interesting youth program in Bookends? We are happy to replicate programs offered to the public for school classrooms or home school groups when resources and staffing allow. Please allow additional time for scheduling special group programs.
Most proctoring services can be provided at any branch, except Park Central Branch, during regular library hours.
Need a booklist for a topic or issue your class is dealing with or studying? We'll provide an age- or grade-appropriate list of titles you can find at the Library.
We'll visit your classroom to provide age-appropriate instruction about how to use the library catalog, our digital resources such as Hoopla and Overdrive, or any of our research resources. We can also help you get your classroom energized and motivated to read! We will provide book talks for new titles, the latest nominees or award books and other topics.
Invite us to your next open house, parent night or family literacy night. We'll provide a game or activity for the kids and library promotional materials to share with families.
Invite us to your next training event to learn about the vast array of resources and expertise we can provide to support learning! We also provide workshops for early childhood educators. Learn more about our early literacy initiative, Racing to Read.
Use the Community Resource Guide (pdf) compiled by the Interpreters' Coalition of Springfield-Greene County to discover out-of-classroom learning opportunities available through nearly fifty area entities.
