Watching for Winter

Is your family watching for winter? Perhaps you've noticed the leaves are gone from most of the trees or that the days are shorter. Have you seen birds, squirrels and other wildlife hunting for nuts and food? And even though it's been warm, kids might be on the lookout for snow! Point out all the differences you can see and talk about how winter is different from other seasons. Ask questions and use lots of descriptive words in your conversations. You'll be amazed at what your children notice and the words they use to tell you!

The Library has a great booklist about Winter to help you explore. Check out these fun titles too!
