Our senses are amazing! They are what collect information about the world and give it to the brain to process. One of the best things about sensory play is the ability to do it anywhere, and it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Whether you decide to get in the kitchen and work on your taste, smell and touch by whipping up a simple recipe or take a break outdoors to listen and look for what’s making the sounds you hear, your senses are always working to help you learn more about your environment. There is so much to explore in our world and young children make the best partners in adventures!
Whether you are exploring indoors or out, the library is here to provide resources and ideas. Check out some of these resources for inspiring your next sensory adventure:
Rosa's Big Pizza Experiment by Jessica Spanyol
Outside, You Notice by Erin Alladin, illustrated by Andrea Blinick
The Nature Adventure Book by Katie Taylor, illustrated by Lianne Harrison
