Don’t Miss the Friends of the Library Sale Sept. 11-15!

August 14, 2024 — Stock up on winter boredom busters by finding the perfect book this fall and winter. Own some of your favorite movies, CDs and classic vinyl records. Add some new games and puzzles for family night.


The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is Sept. 11-15, 2024, at the E*Plex, Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave. Admission and parking are free.


Adults, young adults and children’s books and most audiovisuals are $1 or less. Better books are priced $2 and up.


Shop the sale early at the Friends Night Preview Sale from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Friends members get in free, non members can pay $5 (that night only) at the door to shop the special sale hours. Avoid the wait at the door, and join the Friends now by sending in the form below, visiting thelibrary.org/friends or calling Sarah Hitesman, membership chairman at 417-888-3077.


There’s no admission for the regular sale:

Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 11-13, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.;

Saturday, Half-Price Day, Sept. 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.;

Sunday, Bag Day, Sept. 15, 1-5 p.m. Everything you can jam in a sack is $1, or $5 from Better Books.


Friends accept cash or check only, and there is no tax. Bring a bag to take your treasures home. Proceeds from the Friends’ spring and fall book sales benefit the Springfield-Greene County Library District.
