Springfield-Greene County Library District Hires Director of Institutional Advancement Bridget Dierks will begin on January 2

Springfield, MO – The Springfield-Greene County Library District is pleased to announce the addition of Bridget Dierks to the executive team. Dierks will begin as the Director of Institutional Advancement on Jan. 2. In her new role, Dierks will serve as the chief development officer. Her duties will include managing the Foundation Center, strategically leading the donor development program and development initiatives, managing the grant writing and foundation funding processes, managing the Foundation Center budget, and liaising with the Friends of the Library.

Dierks joins the library district after 18 years with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. She most recently served as the Vice President of Community Impact. In that role, she oversaw the CFO’s grantmaking vision and led the department that distributes unrestricted and field-of-interest grants and scholarships. She also managed the grantmaking relationships with outside foundations. She has a bachelor's in professional writing and communication and a master's in communication from Missouri State University.

When asked about joining the library team, Dierks said, “I am delighted to join the library and advocate for the important work going on every day at each of the ten branches serving Greene County. I have been a lifelong library enthusiast, so it is only fitting that I will spend the next phase of my career connecting our community to this wonderful resource.”

Executive Director Ed Walton added, “The Springfield-Greene County Library District is placing a renewed emphasis on developing partnerships with community members, corporations and foundations to enable the Library's mission to build a stronger community and enable lifelong learning and enrichment. I am excited that Bridget is joining the Library District and will spearhead our efforts to develop those relationships.  Bridget brings a strong history of community involvement, partnership development, professionalism and fundraising expertise to the Library.  I am looking forward to working with her.”
