Barnes & Noble Hosts November 13 Bookfair for the Library Foundation
November 1, 2010 —
Holiday shoppers can do some early gift buying while supporting their local libraries and enjoying free music and activities.
To help raise funds for The Springfield-Greene County Library District, the Library Foundation is working with Barnes & Noble Booksellers to host a bookfair at the 3055 S. Glenstone Ave. store.
From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale made with a special bookfair voucher to the Library Foundation. Shoppers can use vouchers with music, gifts, food and more. They can also choose books from an in-store wish list display to purchase for the library. And if a Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader is on your gift list this year, a voucher presented with that purchase will count toward the library’s percentage, too.
Vouchers are available online on the library district’s website, thelibrary.org, and in hard copy at any of the 10 branch libraries throughout Greene County and the bookmobile.
Use your voucher in the store to enter a drawing for a gift basket packed with items for book lovers, a $75 value from the Between Friends Gift Shop.
The library also has a lineup of events for all ages on Nov. 13 at Barnes & Noble:
- 10 a.m. Listen to Storytime with Leo the Library Lion
- 11 a.m. Hear “Conservatory X,” a musical production of the Conservatory of the Ozarks
- 1 p.m. Learn how to make herbal tea and gifts
- 3 p.m. For teens: Create a custom-beaded bookmark
Can’t attend the bookfair? People can also support the library district by shopping online at www.bn.com/bookfairs from Nov. 13-18 and include the Bookfair voucher ID, 10263747, which appears on the payment page during checkout.
