Book Signings and OzarksWatch Magazine Information Table June 6 at Library Center
May 28, 2015 —
Two authors will sell and sign copies of their works during book signing events on Saturday, June 6, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. Vicke Kepling, manager for OzarksWatch Magazine, will also host an information table.
John Nickols will be available from 1-3 p.m. with his Christian, baseball-themed novel, “The Last Three Outs.” It’s the story of Danny Hill, a one-time bright pitching prospect whose career appears doomed by a shoulder injury. An act of kindness—a visit to an elderly gentleman in a nursing home—begins one of the great comeback stories in baseball history.
Michael Byron Smith’s event will take place from 1-4 p.m. He will sell and sign copies of “The Power of Dadhood,” a mentoring book that encourages men to “father,” and to learn and recognize how they are vitally important to the futures of their children. Whether young or old, first-time fathers or 30-40-something dads, the book allows for any father to assess himself, see where he stands, and make choices to discover the power of dadhood. Smith specifically uses “dadhood” to denote something more personal and powerful than “fatherhood.”
In addition to the book signings on June 6, Vicke Kepling will host an information table for OzarksWatch Magazine from 1-4 p.m. According to its website, OzarksWatch Magazine is the last remaining published periodical that focuses on the history and culture of the Ozarks. As costs have risen and most publications have consolidated or switched to online publishing, Missouri State University takes pride in its role to save the history of our area by publishing OzarksWatch Magazine for over 25 years. Subscriptions for the magazine will be available for purchase.
