James R. Wilder “Terror Near Town” Book Signing Feb. 23 at Library Center

February 14, 2019 — James Wilder will sell and sign copies of his first book, "Terror Near Town," from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

"Terror Near Town," a historical novel, tells the tale of Chet Harbison, one of Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders. Upon Chet's return from the Spanish-American War, he rescues a tortured horse on the way back to his rural Missouri farm. Once he arrives, he learns of a suspicious fire that has taken the lives of his neighbors. The only survivor is the couple's 17-year-old daughter. It doesn't take long before Chet and his new-found love are in a fight their lives as the mystery unravels.
