Interlibrary Loan Service Resumes for Library Users
May 4, 2021 — The coronavirus closed many U.S. libraries in 2020, interrupting the Springfield-Greene County’s Library District’s Interlibrary Loan service – the ability of patrons to borrow materials with other libraries. The local library district reopened a year ago, but many others did not until recent months.
Effective immediately, the Interlibrary Loan service, or ILL, has resumed for all Springfield-Greene County Library cardholders. Patrons can borrow books, movies and other available materials from 152 Missouri libraries, and many more in Texas, Colorado, Kansas and nationwide.
Patrons can submit an ILL request using this form or by calling or asking library staff. They can also call the ILL office 417-616-0529 or email ill@thelibrary.org.
Library users may also request photocopies of materials such as magazines and some materials reproduced in microform such as newspapers. Photocopy requests are filled in accordance with copyright law.
