Author Wayne Holmes to Discuss "Rocky Comfort" May 25

May 12, 2010 — Ozarks author Wayne Holmes, who recently published his biography "Rocky Comfort," will be the special guest at Brentwood Branch Library’s monthly book discussion group at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25. The library is at 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

Holmes will discuss the book and take questions from the adult book discussion group. The event is free and open to the public.

Holmes was a public high school English teacher and football coach for 10 years before teaching English two years in a private junior college. He later served as an English professor at Drury University in Springfield for 24 years.

"Rocky Comfort," set mainly in the Missouri Ozarks during the Great Depression, is the story of one boy's bumpy struggle through childhood and puberty to early manhood. It’s often humorous, occasionally bawdy, sometimes iconoclastic and perhaps unsettling.
