Max Hunter recorded nearly 1,600 traditional songs by more than 200 Ozarks singers from the mid-1950s through the mid-1970s. Sarah Jane Nelson will chronicle Hunter’s song-collecting adventures and share stories of the singers and mentors Hunter met along the way. Her book, "Ballad Hunting with Max Hunter: Stories of an Ozark Folksong Collector," will be available for purchase and signing. Sponsored by the Ozarks Studies Institute, Missouri State University.
